CIELO E MARE VILLAS

It is a plot of 5 acres located outside the settlement "Platanos" of the Municipality of Kissamos. The plot is located at an altitude of 250 meters from the sea, has an amphitheatrical slope and offers unobstructed views of falasarna beach. Falasarna is an area part of the Natura 2000 network, is one of the most popular destinations in Crete and its beach is one of the most famous in Europe.

The aim of the architectural study was to design three independent stone-built houses of the highest energy category, which will offer complete privacy and be fully integrated into the special natural environment of the area. Two of the three houses are similar morphologically and structurally, while the third residence is under construction. The location of the houses follows the natural slope of the plot, the highest point of which is to the east and the lowest to the west.

Two of the three houses have an area of 165sqm each, are two-storey and consist of an open plan kitchen-living-dining area, a bedroom and a shared bathroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms with private bathrooms on the first floor. Between these two houses, the cave house, which has an area of 50 m2 and includes an open plan kitchen-living-bedroom area and a private bathroom, has been located. All residences have private pools. The identical buildings are made of stone and their roofs are inclined with thermal insulation coating.

Due to the natural slope of the plot and the requirements of the project, a special environmental study was carried out, which includes the design of a number of configurations, in conjunction with a special planting study. The environmental study ensures independent access to each residence individually.

The decoration of the houses suggests the creation of a holiday atmosphere by choosing materials in light tones, discreet light constructions and summer fabrics. Natural wood, white lacquer, oak and glass give the space a discreet luxury and at the same time create a strong summer mood. All areas include furniture designed by the study team. Special constructions (such as open wardrobes, etc.) are designed for all bedrooms and public areas.
