The complex has been designed on a plot of land with a total surface area of 130 acres, which is located in an off-plan area of the Municipality of Georgioupolis, in the Municipality of Apokoronas, Chania Prefecture. It is a plot of approximately rectangular plan, with an altitude difference of about 4 m. from the northern to the southern edge.

One of the dominant objectives of the architectural design was the design of a hotel unit that will manage to ensure comfortable and luxurious accommodation in an environment protected from external disturbances.

The composition was based on the drawing of two linear imaginary axes. The first one is parallel to the axis of the highway and along it the basic common functions of the unit are developed, thus achieving noise protection and ensuring the necessary privacy. The second imaginary axis is perpendicular to the first and divides the plot into two parts: the eastern part, where two-storey residential buildings are located, and the western part, where luxurious ground floor suites are located.

In addition, this axis aims to define the main movement paths within the complex and to connect the two main functional "edges" of the unit: the entrance (north end / Reception) and the wellness and relaxation area (south end / Spa).

At the same time, in the centre of the plot, an inward-looking core is created in which the central swimming pool is placed, in direct connection with the other common functions of the unit (pool bar, restaurants, lobby, etc.) and a second large swimming pool which is adjacent to the residential buildings. This direct proximity of the rooms to the water is intended to upgrade the quality of living.

Regarding the construction, the architectural design was oriented towards the selection of local materials with references to Cretan architecture. The use of natural stone and wood materials predominates, both on the facades of the building volumes and the interior of the rooms, as well as in the surrounding area of the unit. Particular emphasis was placed on creating a beneficial environmental footprint through the use of low plants and trees of the Cretan land and the creation of planted rooms.

The design of the interiors was based on the idea of creating a warm environment for visitors. The furniture is for the most part designed by the study team. Lights and decorative objects that add luxury were chosen to be placed in public and private areas of the hotel.

The complex includes outdoor pools of 7.400sq.m., 2 indoor pools of 1.130sq.m., 6 restaurants of 4.100sq.m., 5 Bar 1.590sq.m., 1 Spa 2.170sq.m, 1 Aqua Park 1.100sq.m. and 5 conference rooms 1.200sq.m. Additional facilities such as a playground, sports fields, shops, outdoor theatre, helipad and the necessary parking spaces, complete a hotel unit of high standards.
