In the center of the old port of Chania, in one of the most privileged places, is the café/bar/restaurant DECK. It is a ground floor elongated building of Turkish period, whose roof is entirely vaulted. During the Turkish occupation, the building had the use of an auxiliary workhouse.

The reconstruction-renovation of the site was carried out with respect to the building and the coastal landscape, but also at the same time with a creative mood, in order to serve to the maximum extent possible the needs of the store. An integral part of the study are the materials chosen, creating a palette with basic characteristics of natural textures, such as wood and wicker that refer to the Greek Mediterranean landscape.

The core of the central idea is the bar, which was constructed from a glossy green lacquer and was invested with gold details and a marble bench. The roof of the shop was dressed with a special construction of natural oak in dark hue and wicker. The lamps were designed entirely by the study team and mirrors and wallpapers with tropical style motifs were used for the lining of the walls.

The natural textures of the materials contrast harmoniously with the intense color tones selected point by point, with the dominant green color (new bar), giving vitality but also balance to the general feeling that the space exudes.
