DELIZIA CAFFE

Delizia café on Skalidi Street in the center of Chania, is the new store of the Italian ice cream chain DELIZIA. It is a store that offers fresh Italian ice cream and coffee. The architectural study was called to address the issue of the small surface of the store and for this reason, emphasis was placed on organizing the required functions in such a way as to save the maximum possible usable space. An elongated workbench, it is placed transversely, so as to separate the main functions of the store, from the auxiliary ones.

The architectural study was called to address the issue of the small surface of the store and for this reason, emphasis was placed on organizing the required functions in such a way as to save the maximum possible usable space. An elongated workbench, it is placed transversely, so as to separate the main functions of the store, from the auxiliary ones.

The design of the decoration proposes the creation of a hospitable and functional space, whose aesthetics remind us of the corresponding shops in Italy. The walls are lined with a blue tile in a geometric shape and the ceiling with a decorative frame on its perimeter. Frame is also found in the cupboards located at the bottom of the workbench. Specially constructed showcases are built-in in order to place the products for sale. The store is painted in soft shades, while for its lighting are selected discreetly hanging lamps, white rails with external spotlights and point lighting with neon. The exterior of the store is shaped by plaster frames, in which lamps are placed. It is painted in two shades, bee and brown and the frames are covered by a special awning (kapotina) with black and white stripes.
