RELAX HOTEL

Relax Hotel is located on a plot with unobstructed views of Pachia Ammos, in a central point of Paleochora. The Creative team worked on the design of the new addition to the existing complex - with a capacity of 17 new rooms - and the design of the exterior of the new swimming pool.

The placement of the new volume was designed to create an internal 'courtyard' in harmony with the existing buildings, providing an introspective feel to the complex. The entrance to the hotel is through a semi-outdoor area, which in combination with the large openings of the reception area creates an impressive façade for both the new wing and the entire tourist unit.

The dominant goal of the architectural design and interior decoration was to create a space in harmony with modern hospitality trends.

On the ground floor and with direct access from the street is the reception area in contact with the breakfast buffet which linearly enhances the route to the outdoor area, creating an outdoor dining area. The same level accommodates five double rooms, while on a lower level there is a multipurpose room, a spa and a gym.

On the first floor there are seven double rooms, two of which are suites with private jacuzzi, and on the second floor the remaining five of which three have lofts with internal stairs. All rooms have a sea view or pool view. Finally, on the roof of the western volume there is a roof garden from which one can enjoy unobstructed views of the sea.

A key feature of the new design is the colour palette that marks the individual functions and enhances the brightness of the space. Earthy tones are chosen throughout the entire project, down to the smallest detail: from the shade of the tiles, to the equipment and clothing of each room. An exception is the common area of the reception and the buffet, where there is occasional contrast with more intense colours on walls and furniture fabrics.

Floors made of large ceramic slabs expand the uniformity in the composition, contributing to homogeneity and tranquility. Metallic accents on the railing of the central staircase, wooden perforated partition panels were key elements of the interior design.

The design was completed with the precision of the details and the expressiveness of the individual materials such as the handmade wooden furniture with marble details on the bedside tables and dressers, and the element of wicker on the headboards and the woven pendants. The latter element achieves a special pattern resulting from the diffusion of artificial lighting on the wall surfaces. In addition, to reinforce this, an appropriate design was achieved and spotlights and linear lighting were installed in the private and public areas.
