RESTAURANT AND SURROUNDING AREA WITHIN THE HOTEL

At the Sirios Village hotel in Kato Daratso, Chania, the complete renovation of the restaurant and its surrounding area redefines the hospitality experience through a modern yet discreet architectural approach. The new design proposal included a partial expansion of the space, the replacement of frames and flooring, new interior and exterior color schemes, updated furnishings, and a redesign of the lighting, aiming to create a calm, functional, and welcoming environment.

The design follows a palette of earthy tones — beige, brown, and gray — which enhance the sense of purity and relaxation, elements inextricably linked to the experience of a hotel dining space. Materiality plays a leading role in the composition, with the dark brown engineered stone creating strong contrasts with the light oak wood paneling.

Particular emphasis was placed on surface details. The flooring, with its unique pattern, serves as a core identity element of the space and extends to the exterior, creating a sense of continuity between the interior and the surrounding landscape.

The lighting was carefully designed to enhance the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. Black light fixtures create subtle contrasts against the light-colored surfaces, while gold details add a sense of refined luxury without being excessive.

In the surrounding area, the same design language continues through natural textures, earthy tones, and lush greenery. Olive trees dominate the landscape, reinforcing the connection with the Mediterranean environment and creating a gentle, welcoming space that complements the hotel's overall hospitality experience.
