VILLA VIOLETA

It is a plot of 7 acres located outside the settlement "Keramoti" of the Municipality of Kissos. The plot is quite elongated and tilted from east to west, offering unobstructed views of the sea. On the plot, there was already a two-storey stone house.

The aim of the new architectural study was to add to the plot two new independent houses of higher energy category. A cave and a two-storey stone. The residences offer complete privacy and are integrated into the special natural environment of the area.

The cave house, is 126sq.m. and has been located at the westernmost and lowest point of the plot. This ensures the uninterrupted view of the house towards the sea, as well as its bioclimatic character. It includes three bedrooms, two of which have private bathrooms and an open plan kitchen-dining-living area. The surrounding area includes a 40 m2 swimming pool, an outdoor seating area and a specially designed barbeque area.

The decoration of the house was based on creating a holiday atmosphere, choosing textures and materials in beige tones. For basic furniture, natural wood has been chosen as the dominant material. Special constructions such as wardrobes, headboards and boudoir have been designed by the study team.

The peculiarity in the new configuration of the basement lies in the fact that the two-day spaces are in direct contact with the surrounding area and the new outdoor circular swimming pool created there, while at the same time the living area separates the private spaces from the public areas, acting as a filter. Between the indoor pool area and the living room, a permeable wall is created that houses a wine cellar.

The aim of the decoration study is for the two floors to have a different character and style in order to be able to operate independently. Because it is a rented residence, this makes it attractive to a wider range of visitors.

The ground floor is chosen to acquire the character of an urban modern residence, with references to objects and textures of earlier decades. Parquet wooden flooring, objects with gold details, marble and leather, strong elements of the reconstruction era of the building are the basic decorative principles. In all areas of the house, furniture, equipment and decorative details – elements of the modern trend – create a contrast with the existing space and bridge the present with the then.
